Discover Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood and the Sunset Strip Sunset Boulevard is a long, winding thoroughfare which begins in downtown Los Angeles and runs westward over 20 miles to the blue Pacific. It is the most famous street in the world. The Boulevard still links the gritty, urban streets of downtown Hollywood to the lush, green residential avenues of Beverly Hills. A drive along Sunset Boulevard allows you to experience a little of both worlds. Along the way, Sunset Boulevard passes through Hollywood, then becomes the Sunset Strip as it passes through West Hollywood, weaves its way through Beverly Hills and Bel-Air and finally winds its way through the rustic foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains to finally end at the Pacific Ocean near Malibu. Over the course of those 20 miles the boulevard’s personality undergoes several radical transformations. It is a leisurely drive that can take up to 4 or 5 hours with stops along the way. It crosses three cities, includes the most dense and ethnically diverse neighborhoods in Los Angeles and reflects nearly every major architectural style of the twentieth century and embodies the role of the automobile in the growth of Southern California. From the hip Santa Monica Beach, to glamorous Beverly Hills and the famous Rodeo Drive to Korea Town and downtown Los Angeles, the Story of Wilshire is the Story of Los Angeles. Santa Barbara Via Pacific Coast Highway A very scenic ride along the Pacific Ocean drops you in Santa Barbara, a cool, hip and extraordinarily pretty town. There are also a couple of places to taste wine too! This is an all day tour and ride that can take up to 6 or 8 hours. Laguna Beach Via Pacific Coast Highway This is definitely the most scenic ride! Laguna Beach is southern California’s premier, seaside destination midway between Los Angeles and San Diego. A year-round retreat for art lovers, nature enthusiasts and beachgoers, Laguna Beach features seven miles of soft sand and the sound of the surf.
